All volunteers must fill out the appropriate application and Code of Conduct.  In addition, by state law, volunteers must complete the Mandated Reporter Training and obtain the following 3 clearances: PA Child Abuse History, PA State Background Check, and FBI Fingerprinting/Affidavit.  Recently added is the requirement for coaches to complete the Heads Up Concussion training through the CDC.

FBI Fingerprinting

 For the FBI Fingerprinting or Affidavit: 

  •  You need to complete the Affidavit (Section Abpove)  if you have lived for 10 consecutive years in PA and can attest to not having committed the listed crimes.
  • You need to complete the FBI Fingerprinting if you have not lived for 10 consecutive years in PA.

The first clearance of three you must have in order to be involved with the BYFL.  You will either complete fingerprinting or file an affidavit.

 Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance (PFSA) offers the most comprehensive training program for mandated reporters of child abuse in the Commonwealth. There are many places you could go to fulfill your training needs. Many are offered by others claiming to be “experts” but the truth is not one other provider has been training mandated reporters as long as PFSA

Cardiac Wise Heart Training


 Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes.  CardiacWise is a free online educational program designed to educate coaches, parents, athletes on the prevention of sudden cardiac arrest in athletes.  This course is approximately 15 minutes in length.  Individuals who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of completion
